Some two dozen members attended a private view of the Bonhams "Scottish Sale" on 18th August 2007 in Edinburgh. The sale which took place from 22nd to 24th August contained a considerable amount of Mauchlineware including the second tranche of the collection of our late member Barry Kottler.

The Club will be exhibiting at an exciting new show run by the Writing Equipment Society on Sunday 7th October 2007 at Kensington Town Hall in London. As there are so many writing-related Mauchline pieces, it was felt that this should be a good recruiting opportunity for our Club. Go to www.wesonline.org.uk to see details.

The next International Convention is scheduled to take place in Yorkshire 17th - 20th April 2008. Details were sent out with the latest issue of the Journal. However if you did not receive this or if you are not a member and are interested in joining the Club and participating in this, the most important of our events, email the secretary davedavey@talk21.com for details and an application form. An outline programme is already in place for the event and spaces are filling fast so do not delay.

Following the great success of our trip to Knowle at the end of last year, we are returning on Saturday 1st December 2007. Thanks to the generosity of Bonhams we are able to hold a meeting as well as viewing their annual sale of sewing items which always contains a good quantity of Mauchline Ware. A trip to Spa in Belgium has been organised for September 2007. Still home to a number of Box-makers and an excellent museum, Spa is well worth a visit. Bookings are now closed for this trip which has been very well supported.
