Mauchline Regional Meeting

Ian Smith and Alex Wilson organised a recent visit to Mauchline, including a viewing of the newly refurbished Burns House Museum and the enlarged and improved collection of Mauchlineware, now on permanent display in Poosie Nansie's. Tours of sites of interest in the town were also made.

Boston Meeting

The US branch of the Club recently held a meeting in Boston to coincide with the Brimfield Antiques Show. The main meeting was held in the historic Parker House Hotel on 11th September. Some 15 members attended, including 3 from the UK. Members put on a number of interesting displays of mainly US views - illustrated is a wonderful collection of transfer pieces of the famous Bunker Hill Monument. Members then gave a number of short talks on subjects as diverse as:

The export market for Smiths of Mauchline
The different transfers showing the Bunker Hill Monument
The new Club web site.
"The missing transfers"

A buffet lunch was served and a great time was had by all.

November Meeting in Chelsea Harbour

Some 25 members attended the latest London meeting held at Chelsea Harbour on 5th November 2006. After a sandwich lunch members were able to view the impressive array of photographic ware brought along by members. This was to provide the theme of the day with a fascinating talk by William Hodges, backed up with stunning examples from his collection (a part of which is illustrated). Further short talks were given by members. Members can expect to read further on this subject in the Journal in due course.
